The Hunts

We hunt in 33 pits and 8 portable blinds, in forty three different fields spread out across 3 counties!! But we don't hunt in these fields every day; we hunt our fields on a rotating basis, which allows us to "rest the fields" between hunts so the fields don't get "burned out" and the birds don't get shy of our fields. We hunt in groups of 5 which include four hunters and a guide in each pit.

We only hunt 3-5 groups per day, and this is the key to our success!!

All our hunts are guided, and take place over the finest decoys in the world, with professional guides who make their living calling waterfowl into gunning range for Goose and Duck hunters.

The blinds are well concealed, spacious, comfortable, and heated for your comfort and success. We hunt in pit blinds, portable upright blinds, and layout blinds. If you have a preference, or special needs, just let us know when you make your reservations, and we'll do our best to accomodate you. 

Since 1993, Porters has killed over 15,000 geese, and averaged over 1.65 geese per hunter!

No other club even comes close to matching our numbers!

The reason that we have such great success is that in addition to almost 1 million migratory geese that come to winter in our area every year, Northern Illinois also has a resident population of several hundred thousand Giant Canada Geese that live here the whole year. As a result, we kill geese every day of the season, and don't have to wait for the migration.

DUCK HUNTING

Hunt Puddle Ducks on our 5 private ponds or in the fields when the weather cools off and the Ducks feed on Corn and Soybeans.
The Goose hunting in our area is spectacular, and the duck hunting can be too, but is much more dependant upon weather conditions.

Mallards make up the bulk of our bag, and we average 7-12 ducks per trip.
